Tile partners with Fitbit and enters the wearable space for the first time with Inspire 2 devices

Tile and Fitbit have teamed up now and from the Fitbit Inspire 2 devices you will be able to track wearable devices with Tile’s Bluetooth technology. Until now, Tile has been known for smart beacons that you can slip into your bags or stick on your other devices for easy tracking, but this new partnership marks Tile’s entry into the portable space from Inspire. 2.

If you already own a Fitbit Inspire 2, you will receive a prompt to update your device’s software in the Fitbit app from today to add the Tile feature. Once updated, you will be prompted to download the Tile app to activate the search tool. All new Fitbit Inspire 2 devices are capable of activating Tile’s search technology.

Once all the updates and downloads are in place, if you misplace your Inspire 2, you can use the Tile app to locate your device. If by any chance you find yourself outside of Bluetooth range, you can use the app to view its most recent location or use Tile’s global network to find it. Additionally, if your Inspire 2 is connected via Bluetooth to your phone, you can now use your Inspire 2 to ring your phone, even when it is in silent mode.

Additional features, such as smart alerts, are also available with the Tile Premium subscription. Using Tile’s smart alerts, the Tile app will be able to proactively warn you before you leave your Fitbit Inspire 2 behind when heading home.
