WhatsApp is working on pinning messages in conversations: everything you need to know

The popular instant messaging application WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is reportedly working on pinning messages in chats and groups. Now users can prioritize their important messages and keep them at the top of their chat list for easy access.

“The feature is still under development, but thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.7.3 update available on the Play Store, we can preview what a pinned message will look like in a chat when the feature is fully developed and released in the future,” WABetaInfo, a website that follows WhatsApp, reported.

According to the report, in order to pin a message, one must select the “Pin” function from the message options. When a message is pinned, a small icon will appear in the chat bubble to indicate that the message is pinned, and the message will appear at the top of the conversation for quick access when needed.

The ability to pin messages to the top of conversations is useful. It allows everyone in the chat to easily find important messages later. In addition, pinned messages make group discussions even more organized.

The report also said that pinned posts definitely help us keep important posts easy to find and keep everyone focused on what matters most.

The ability to pin messages is under development and will be released in a future update of the app, it added.

In related news, the meta-owned messaging app has released a bugfix update for an issue with iOS notifications.

Some users had reported on Twitter that they had an issue with receiving notifications on WhatsApp, preventing them from receiving notifications of new messages. However, this problem seemed to be limited to the enterprise application.

The notification fix will be available after installing the latest WhatsApp for iOS update from the App Store, according to the report.
