Google plans to reopen some offices in the United States in the next month
Google has said it will allow employees to return to certain U.S. offices within the next month, a sign that the tech industry is trying to return to the workplace after more than a year of working remotely during the pandemic. Covid-19.
Employees can choose to visit the offices of the Alphabet Inc. unit until September, Fionna Cicconi, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Google, wrote on Wednesday in a memo to staff.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai told employees in December that the company will pilot a hybrid model in which teams meet for “collaboration days” at the office and the other days work from home or office. . Cicconi said Google’s offices wouldn’t look what employees remember, but the company will continue to provide meals, snacks and amenities where possible. If an employee works in a country other than where they are employed, they have until September 1 to return to the United States.
