Apple Unveils Lowest-Priced Apple Pencil With USB Type-C Connectivity

Apple has announced its cheapest version Apple Pencil with USB Type-C port for iPads at Rs 7,900. This is the third Apple Pencil model, along with the 1st generation Apple Pencil and the 2nd generation Apple Pencil.

The new Apple Pencil (with USB Type-C port) is compatible with all iPad models with a USB-C port, including iPad (10th generation), iPad Air (4th and 5th generation), iPad Pro 11 -inch (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation) and iPad mini (6th generation). Apple Pencil (2nd generation) is compatible with iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad Pro models and is priced at Rs 11,900.

Compared to the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, the new Apple Pencil has a hidden USB Type-C port, but lacks magnetic wireless charging and pairing support. Despite this, you can still magnetically attach the new stylus to the iPad, but it won’t charge the stylus.

The design is very similar, but the new and cheaper Apple Pencil lacks several features, such as double-tap to change tools and pressure sensitivity.

The new Apple Pencil works with iPadOS features like Scribble, Quick Note, and more for free-form collaboration. When used with the M2 models of iPad Pro, the new Apple Pencil supports the hover function, allowing users to sketch and draw with greater precision.

Apple Pencil (USB Type-C port) comparison

Apple Pencil (1st Gen) is priced at Rs 9,500 and is compatible with iPad (10th Gen) and iPad (9th Gen). Pairing and charging requires a USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter, which is included in the Apple Pencil (1st generation) box. For existing Apple Pencil (1st generation) owners, the USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter will be sold separately for Rs.900.
