Apple May Release 32-inch iMac in 2025

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple is considering adding a 32-inch mini-LED iMac to its lineup in 2025. However, it’s currently unclear how Apple plans to position this model in its lineup.

However, Kuo notes that it would be a high-end machine – possibly replacing the now-discontinued 27-inch iMac Pro from 2017. The 2017 model had a 5K screen and was positioned as a high-end machine.

Given Kuo’s suggestion that the new 32-inch model might feature a mini-LED panel (high-quality display technology), it could become a powerful iMac alternative that’s missing from the current lineup.

Also, the only iMac Apple currently offers is the 24-inch iMac, which runs on the M1 chipset. This model is now over two years old and needs to be updated with the latest internals. This may be one of the reasons why Apple is allegedly considering another iMac refresh – possibly in early 2024, Kuo says.

Despite this, Apple has completed its transition to its own M-series silicon and now offers a range of chipsets for different product categories. There’s the M2-powered MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and even the Mac mini. In addition, there are high-end chipsets such as M2 Pro, M2 Max and M2 Ultra designed for Apple’s high-end devices, especially for performance-intensive tasks. It remains to be seen which chipsets Apple will choose for the rumored 24-inch iMac and 32-inch model.
