Elon Musk’s Grok Chatbot: Sam Altman’s Epic Reaction!

Sam Altman, the current CEO of OpenAI and former board member alongside Elon Musk, has finally responded to Musk’s continuous criticism and mockery of OpenAI’s AI chatbot ChatGPT. Altman, who had remained silent until now, took to X (formerly Twitter) this morning to make a sarcastic remark about Musk’s chatbot Grok.

Altman posted a screenshot, likely edited, of his GPT Builder app, asking it to build “a chatbot that answers questions with crude boomer humor in a sort of awkward shock to get a laugh.” GPT Builder complies and replies: “The chatbot has been configured! Its name is Grok.” It must have stung! The CEO of OpenAI posted the image with the caption “GPTs can save a lot of trouble.”

While Altman’s creative prank has received much applause on the platform, he also subtly highlights a demo of its recently announced offering called GPT Builder. At OpenAI’s recently concluded developer-focused DevDay event, Altman unveiled GPTs, custom AI bots that developers and organizations can make for specific tasks. It turns out that doing them is very simple, requiring only a text prompt.

Many have reacted to Altman’s roasting of Musk’s first AI project, which came out of x.AI. One user warned him of the consequences, saying: “This is epic trolling. Watch out Sam, you asked for it from the troll master.” Another said: “Imagine burning this badly on a platform you bought for 44 billion”.

In the past, Musk has also taken pictures of OpenAI. In an interview with CNBC, he said, “I’m the reason why OpenAI exists. I came up with the name. The name OpenAI refers to open source… And so part of it is at the beginning, I thought, ‘Look, this is probably a hopeless business.’ How could OpenAI compete with Google DeepMind?
