New Capture Button for Camera Expected in iPhone 16 Models – Here’s Its Functionality
Apple will be adding new hardware buttons to the iPhone in the next few years, and we’ve already gotten a teaser of it with the action button on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Well, it’s not quite a physical button, but still, Apple is clearly aiming for more additions to the iPhone 16 series in 2024.
Previous reports have mentioned the debut of a capture button on the iPhone 16 series, which could in principle be connected to the cameras and perhaps act like a shutter release.
Internally, Apple calls this button the “Capture Button” and while we can speculate, the company is still not sure how the new feature will be used. After that, we can tell that the button is located below the power button on the right side of the device, and it’s a capacitive button instead of a regular button.
Sources at MacRumors have reported that the new button is set to roll out to all iPhone 16 models, including the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models. The rumored iPhone 16 Pro Action Button is expected to be embedded, and Apple plans to switch to solid-state technology for this button, which is a big change from the current standard button design.
The iPhone 16 will also get some premium features, and we hope that the ProMotion 120 Hz display will finally come to the regular iPhone 16 models as well. The company will continue to rely on Qualcomm for the iPhone’s 5G modem for the next few years, and reports suggest that Apple may have completely abandoned plans to develop an in-house 5G modem for iPhones, which is good news for companies like Qualcomm moving forward.
According to the latest Apple news, the company has been ordered to stop selling the latest Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 models due to reported patent infringements in the United States.
