Apple is giving more reasons for people to wait for the 2025 iPhone 17 series lineup because of this upgrade.News

Report: Apple to introduce 120Hz OLED display in all models of iPhone 17 series in the upcoming year.

Apple has good news and bad news for iPhone buyers this week. The company will likely keep ProMotion, or 120Hz refresh rate displays, exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models in 2024, but expect the brand to include the feature on all iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models next year.

Android phones under Rs 30,000 now offer a 120Hz LTPO display, but Apple has kept it to its buyers only on the 1 Lakh+ models since 2021. However, a new display source suggests that the company is now ready to update all iPhone models in 2025 with an LTPO panel that will not only bring adaptive refresh rates, but also support the Always-on-Display feature.

This means that the iPhone 17, which will go up to the 17 Pro Max, which will be released in 2025, will support dynamic refresh rates from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, depending on what you are doing on the screen. A new report from The Elec suggests that Apple has been pushing to expand the feature to all models, but the company didn’t receive display samples until late 2023, meaning the 2024 iPhone lineup likely wasn’t ready to receive the new panels.

However, Apple is now ready to roll out the feature to all iPhone 17 models, meaning many buyers may want to wait another 12 months before purchasing the latest iPhones. According to the report, Apple is relying on BOE to supply iPhone display panels by 2025, but it is not certain that the company will continue with just one supplier to meet the highest standards.

One thing is for sure, if the iPhone 17 series gets a ProMotion display, expect Apple to raise the price of the base model further, which is in line with the company’s strategy in recent years.

We’ve already seen Apple introduce Dynamic Island on all models of the iPhone 15 series last year, so it makes sense that the company is now going full throttle and finally giving all iPhone users a taste of its premium features without paying for the Pro models.
