Microsoft makes Teams calling free for up to 300 users
Microsoft is trying to make itself more competitive with Zoom by introducing a new feature in its Teams platform. And this can be seen as one of the company’s biggest efforts of late. So what is the functionality? All day video calling option, which is also free. This is part of the Teams Friends and Family functionality for both the desktop client and the web client. This allows you to create a call with up to 300 members for unlimited minutes, which you cannot do on Zoom (at least for free).
The announcement comes shortly after Zoom said it was lifting the 40-minute barrier for a while. As a thank you to our clients, we will be lifting the 40 minute limit for all meetings around the world from midnight ET on November 26 to 6 a.m. ET on November 27 so your family reunions are not interrupted, Zoom written in a message on Twitter.
It is applicable to calls made through its free tier worldwide. This means that regardless of whether or not users live in the United States or celebrate this festival or not, they will be able to enjoy the benefits of this concession. This is also true for users in India.
