Samsung Galaxy M34 5G Tops Sales During Prime Day Event
Amazon India’s 7th edition of Prime Day was a resounding success, attracting a tremendous response from Prime members who eagerly took advantage of fantastic deals, new product releases, and exciting entertainment options. The event witnessed an impressive rate of 5 smartphones sold every second, with 70% of the demand originating from Tier 2 & 3 cities. Foldable smartphones experienced an astonishing 25 times growth, and Prime members displayed significant interest in the recently launched smartphones, such as the OnePlus Nord 3 5G, Samsung Galaxy M34 5G, Motorola Razr 40 Series, Realme Narzo 60 Series, and iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G.

In the smartphone category, the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G became the number one selling smartphone among the new releases of Amazon Prime Day. Aditya Babbar, Head of MX Business, Samsung India, expressed his delight at the success of the Galaxy M34 5G, which continued the successful legacy of the Galaxy M series. He attributed the smartphone’s popularity to customers’ trust in the brand and its commitment to pioneering innovations.
Huge increase in Prime membership and engagement
This year’s Prime Day, which took place on the 15th and 16th July, saw a huge increase in Prime membership and engagement, with members making 14% more purchases than the previous year. Amazon India partnered with thousands of sellers, brands and banking partners to offer Prime members unprecedented savings of around INR 300. The event saw the highest number of same-day deliveries, with one in three orders in metros delivered before the end of Prime Day, and one in two orders in most Tier 1 & 2 cities delivered within two days.
Amazon India Head of Prime and Delivery Experience Akshay Sahi thanked sellers, brand partners and Prime members for making Prime Day 2023 a success. Products from over 400 top Indian and global brands and over 2,000 new product launches for the Indian SME market were made available to Prime members in 98% of India’s PIN codes. Among the best-selling products, front-loading washing machines, headphones, clothes, shoes, luxury beauty products and smartphones attracted the most interest.
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) experienced strong growth during Prime Day 2023. More than 90,000 SME sellers received orders from Prime members with more than 19,000 PIN codes in India. More than 15,000 SMEs experienced their best sales ever, and more than 14,000 new SMEs launched in 2023 received orders, of which more than 500 achieved their best sales day ever during the event.
