Apple iPhone 15 Pro Expected To Feature Wi-Fi 6E: Here’s What You Need To Know
Apple, the tech giant headquartered in Cupertino, is anticipated to release four new smartphones in the iPhone 15 series this year. These include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. A recent report suggests that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first iPhones to feature Wi-Fi 6E support, while the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to continue with regular Wi-Fi 6.
According to MacRumors, Wi-Fi 6E enables a faster and more reliable wireless connection in iPhone 15 Pro models. Wi-Fi 6 operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, while Wi-Fi 6E also operates on the 6GHz band to increase bandwidth. It offers faster wireless speeds, lower latency and less signal interference as long as a supported device is connected to a Wi-Fi 6E router.
Reports also hinted that this year the iPhone 15 series will bring big changes in design and features, especially in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The company will likely switch to USB-C charging and ditch the Lightning port. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models may also feature improved cameras and chipsets, including a 48-megapixel main camera sensor.
The iPhone 15 and its Plus model are rumored to have three significant upgrades compared to their predecessors. Leaks suggest that the regular iPhone 15 models may feature Apple’s new Dynamic Island design with a punch-hole display that you usually only see on the Pro models.
The upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to feature Apple’s Bionic A16 chipset, which was introduced last year in the iPhone 14 Pro models. The new strategy is to offer the latest chipset in the Pro models, while the standard models get a year-old chipset.
In addition, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available in new color options and the iPhone 15 collection has significantly larger batteries.
As the release of the iPhone 15 series approaches, more information on the features and specifications of these models is expected in the coming weeks.
