Samsung Unveils Galaxy Watch 6 Range With Emphasis On Wellness Monitoring: See Prices and Specifications
Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy Watch6 series smartwatches, including the standard Galaxy Watch6 and the high-end Galaxy Watch6 Classic, at its Unpacked event in Seoul today. The company is emphasizing its dedication to users’ well-being and physical fitness with these new watches, which boast a range of innovative features such as sleep score factors and a novel irregular heart rhythm notification function.
Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Series: Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is available in two case sizes: 40mm and 44mm. Meanwhile, the Watch6 Classic is also available in two case sizes: a larger 47mm option alongside a 43mm option.
The Galaxy Watch6 Classic, in particular, has ditched the “Pro” moniker in favor of the “Classic” brand — and in doing so, it welcomes back the rotary dial. On the other hand, the design of the Watch6 is similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch5.
Under the hood, both the Galaxy Watch6 Classic and the Watch6 have an Exynos W930 Dual-Core 1.4GHz processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
As for the batteries, the Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic – both have 425mAh and 300mAh batteries, depending on the case size. But despite the different case sizes, Samsung claims that all models have up to 40 hours of battery life with Always On Display off – or up to 30 hours with Always On Display on. The watches also support fast charging.
Both watches of the Galaxy Watch 6 series work on Google’s latest Wear OS 4 platform, which is topped with Samsung’s One UI 5 Watch user interface.
All models in the Watch6 series are water resistant up to 5 ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certified, and offer personalized sleep management and fitness features – including heart health monitoring and fall detection.
