Amazon Prime Offers Huge Savings During Big Deal Days

Following the conclusion of Amazon Prime Day in July, Amazon has revealed its plans to host another membership-only sales event in October 2023. This event, titled “Prime Big Deal Days,” is expected to resemble last year’s October event. While the exact details are currently unknown, ReturnByte will be highlighting the top tech deals available on Amazon and other platforms during this event. It is crucial to be aware of certain key factors beforehand to ensure you can obtain your desired items during October Prime Day.

When are Prime Big Deal Days?

Amazon Prime Big Sale Days will take place in October 2023, but the exact dates have not yet been announced. We’ll update this post when Amazon makes more information public.

Just like the classic Prime Day, you must be a Prime subscriber to take advantage of most of the savings you get from Amazon during the sale period. The company is still offering a 30-day free trial for new Prime subscribers, so you can start your free trial before the event to participate.

If you don’t pay for Prime and don’t plan to, you should still visit Amazon on Prime Day in October, available to all shoppers. Additionally, other retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Target will likely have their own competing Prime Day sales during that time as well.

October’s Prime Day deals

It’s very likely that October’s Prime Day will be a two-day event, as Amazon has followed this pattern for all of its Prime-exclusive sales in recent years. However, the company also usually pushes early Prime Day deals before the event itself. We expect to see early access Prime Day deals in October as well.

Whether it’s early Prime Day deals or a sale day, Amazon gadgets are almost guaranteed to be discounted during Prime Big Deal days. You can safely bet on things like Echo speakers, Kindle e-readers, and Fire TV devices going on sale during Prime Day. And since this event is in October, it’s highly likely that Amazon will use this Prime Day almost as an early Black Friday event for Prime subscribers: paying for Prime can get you a Black Friday price on Amazon devices (and other gear) a month later. in advance.

Make no mistake, Amazon gadgets aren’t the only deals on Prime Day. You’ll find clothing, shoes, housewares, appliances, accessories and more at the sale, but here at ReturnByte we naturally focus on electronics. We’re expecting this October’s Prime Day to be like July, with big discounts on headphones, earbuds, laptops, gaming accessories, SSDs and microSD cards, robot vacuums and more.

It’s also worth mentioning what types of deals we expect to see during October’s Prime Day. Some offers are valid for the entire 48 hours of the event, while others are just one or two day discounts. These are the hardest to predict because Amazon usually doesn’t give any indication of how long a particular sale will last. We recommend buying the products you like the most as soon as you see their price drop – this way you’ll make sure you get them while the discount is valid and the product is still in stock.

You can also expect to see some “Lightning Deals” during Prime Day. Fortunately, these are usually clearly marked with how much time is left to get the sale price on the product page. In our experience, only a handful of these flash deals are actually worth your money – but if you see a price on your wishlist drop over the next few hours, you’d better grab it right away.

How to prepare for Prime Day in October

We’ve already alluded to this, but it’s best to go into Amazon’s Prime Big Deal days as prepared as possible. This means you know exactly what you want to look for so you can stay focused and avoid distractions. This is especially important with Prime Day in October – Amazon used this event last year as the unofficial start to the Christmas shopping season, so if you want to get some of your gift shopping done in time, you’ll want to focus. All of Amazon.com is overpowered on Prime Day, so the less time you spend aimlessly browsing, the more your wallet will thank you later.

Two simple things you can do before Prime Day is make a list and bookmark Price Tracker. For the former, consider the most important items you want to pick up on Prime Day. You can either do this the old fashioned way on a sticky note or use Amazon’s wish list feature. In the latter case, add the items you want to buy on Prime Day to your wish list (or better yet, make your own wish list with just your Prime Day or holiday gift wishes) and return to that list during the event. In addition to having everything you want all in one place, you can also see which of these products are cheaper on Prime Day than when they were originally added.

When it comes to price tracking, sites like CamelCamelCamel allow you to track the price of certain products on Amazon. You can view price history charts and create your own price drop alerts, so you get emails when something you want gets a discount. CamelCamelCamel also has some browser extensions that you can download so you don’t have to navigate away from the Amazon product page to check its price history.

We know that not everyone — not even all Prime members — flock to Amazon during Prime Big Deal Days. Whether you like these kinds of flashy consumer benefits or simply don’t want to give Amazon more money, there are plenty of reasons why you might skip all of this. But that doesn’t mean you have to skip all the sales that happen at the same time. Especially with the holidays so close, retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and more are likely to have competing Prime Day sales, and we expect many of them to match the discounted prices found on Amazon. We recommend checking them out if you want to knock some items off your holiday shopping list for less without spending any money on Amazon.
