Google Slides Introduces Annotation Feature for Presentations
Google has unveiled a fresh tool for Slides that enhances interactivity and engagement in presentations. The pen tool allows users to write directly on slides during meetings or reports, enabling them to highlight important details, draw arrows, underline key information, and freely jot down any desired annotations. Previously, users had to rely on third-party tools to incorporate such writing features into their presentations, although Slides already offered the option to transform the mouse arrow into a laser pointer.
Slides’ new pen tool is built into the program, and you don’t need to download anything extra. To access it, you need to open the file in slideshow mode and then hover over the bottom left corner to see the three-dot menu. In this menu you will find an option that says “Enable pen”. You can choose the pen color you want from the panel that appears – black, red, blue or green – and you can also easily turn it off from the same place. If you want to erase what you’ve written, all you have to do is switch from the pen to the eraser tool in the lower left corner.
Google says the feature is available to all Workspace customers and users with a personal account, but it could take up to 15 days before the pen tool is available to everyone.
