Carbon fiber Vaio Z (2021) launched, bundled with an 11th generation Intel Core processor
Japan’s Vaio Corp has just launched its latest flagship laptop, the Vaio Z (2021). The laptop comes with a streamlined carbon fiber construction that promises “exceptional strength” in a lightweight design.
The Vaio Z (2021) comes with an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics and a 14-inch 4K display. There’s also the Signature Vaio Z (2021) edition which sports a carbon fiber texture. The Vaio Z series saw its first flagship model in 2016, the 2021 range is their latest upgrade.
The Vaio Z (2021) runs on Windows 10 Pro and comes with a 14-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K Ultra-HD display with HDR support. The screen is attached to a cover that can open up to 180 degrees and users can rotate the screen when opened by pressing the Fn + 2 key.
Vaio claims that the Vaio Z (2021) display can be opened and closed with one hand – without touching its palm rest.
The Vaio Z (2021) is powered by the Intel Core i7 processor, with Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 32GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The laptop comes with up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. The company has used its proprietary Vaio TruePerformance technology which claims to increase CPU power limits while controlling heat emissions.
The Vaio Z (2021) comes with Windows Hello facial recognition technology and there is also a fingerprint sensor.
These laptops come with Dolby Audio with stereo speakers. For connectivity, there are two Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Plus, it comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Vaio Z (2021) features an angled backlit keyboard, 1.5mm keystroke, and a touchpad with multi-touch support. There is also a built-in webcam with a physical camera shutter.
The Vaio Z (2021) comes with a battery that promises to provide up to 10 hours of use on a single charge. The battery supports fast charging up to 65W via the supplied AC adapter. Additionally, Vaio said the laptop weighs around a kilogram.
The laptops are currently available for pre-order in the United States. The company has yet to reveal when it will launch in India.
