Adobe Introduces Apple Vision Pro-Compatible Lightroom and Firefly AI Applications
Adobe has announced that it will bring Firefly AI, its own text-to-image tool, and the popular Lightroom app to Apple Vision Pro, which was released on February 2nd in the US. Both tools are available as native apps on VisionOS, and the company says these apps are “purpose-built” for VisionOS.
Users can move around the images created with the Firefly AI tool, and then the created images can be placed, perhaps augmented, in any real space, such as on a wall or on a table.
The company notes that “the user interface of Firefly VisionOS should be familiar to anyone who has already used the web-based version of the tool – users just need to enter a text description in the prompt box at the bottom” and then hit “create.” This will generate four images for users.
It added: “The Firefly AI model behind the new VisionOS app is designed to be commercially safe and applies a ‘nutrition tag’ to images, embedding metadata so they can be transparently labeled as created by AI,” the company said.
The version of Vision Pro coming to Lightroom is said to be similar to the one on the iPad, but fine-tuned to better suit the platform and made so that users can use the interface with hand gestures. Adobe says it’s “easier to navigate with hand gestures than more feature-rich desktop software.” These additions should be useful for ads using Vision Pro, allowing them to play native apps.
