Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max hit by new multiport charging bug

Apple started shipping its next-gen iPhone 12 Pro Max earlier this week. Now, less than a week after the start of delivery, reports of problems with the phone’s multi-port charging technology have started appearing on the Internet.

GizChina citing a report from a digital blogger called Fertile on Weibo, some users are facing issues when using a multi-port adapter to charge their iPhone 12 Pro Max smartphones. The report states that if users plug in and unplug other devices that charge with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the phone will stop charging.

The blogger, through his own testing, confirmed that this problem exists with the top variant of the new iPhone 12 series. The blogger says the problem persists as long as power is redistributed.

While there is no immediate solution, users can try charging their phones separately. In the meantime, charger manufacturers have said they are aware of the issue and are working on new chargers that will completely solve this problem.

Notably, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of issues in the company’s iPhone 12 series. Some iPhone 12 Mini users have reported issues with the phone’s touchscreen, where it partially does not respond on the lock screen. Users also reported experiencing issues launching the phone’s camera and flashlight.
