Apple Issues Medical Warning for Vision Pro Users
Apple has said that using its Vision Pro MR headset with certain medical conditions may increase the “risk of injury from discomfort.”
The technology giant advises to consult a doctor before using Apple Vision Pro.
“If you are at risk of falling or having seizures, or have a serious medical condition such as heart disease, talk to your doctor before using Apple Vision Pro,” the company wrote in a support document.
“Using this device with certain medical conditions may worsen symptoms or increase the risk of injury or discomfort,” it added. Medical conditions detailed by Apple include migraine or chronic headache, dizziness or vertigo, eye or vision disorders (such as binocular vision disorders), psychiatric conditions, inner ear disorders, and seizures.
For pregnant women, the company advised to exercise special caution when using the Apple Vision Pro, as pregnancy may increase the risk of nausea or loss of balance.
“If your doctor has confirmed that it is safe to use Apple Vision Pro, use the device while seated and start with a less immersive experience. Use the device for short intervals and take frequent breaks,” Apple said.
The Apple Vision Pro is available starting at $3,499 with 256GB of storage. Apple Vision Pro pre-orders are now open. The headphones are available at all US Apple Stores and US Apple Stores online, the company said.
