Apple may renew the control center with major changes in the upcoming iOS 17
The iPhone Control Center has kept the same look and feel for several recent iOS versions and now looks a bit dated. However, a report from MacRumors suggests that Control Center could be undergoing a “big change” with iOS 17.
According to MacRumors’ source, who previously leaked information about the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island, has stated that iOS 17 is likely to be an update focused on stability and performance improvements, but the addition of a revamped Control Center is going to be a big change coming to the operating system.
It’s worth noting that certain changes to Control Center features have not been confirmed, and this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the changes coming to iOS will be revealed at the upcoming WWDC 2023 event on June 5.
It is also worth mentioning that the appearance of the Control Center has remained unchanged since the release of iOS 11. Since Control Center turned 10 this year, and was originally introduced in 2007, this could be an ideal time for Apple to update the design.
Currently in iOS 16, the Control Center can be accessed by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. It offers the ability to turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections on and off, turn on the flashlight, and add additional features such as switching to dark mode and allowing screen recording.
