Apple to Premiere ‘Foundation’ Series on YouTube
In the previous month, Apple released the first episode of Silo on Twitter as a means to advertise the conclusion of its first season. Following suit, the tech giant is now employing a similar strategy for its other prominent science fiction series. As of Monday, viewers will have the opportunity to watch the initial episode of Foundation on YouTube before its second season premieres on July 14th.
Apple’s live-action adaptation of Issac Asimov’s classic novel series of the same name premiered in 2021 after production was delayed due to the pandemic. As 9to5Mac points out, you can already watch the first episode of the series for free on Apple TV, but it requires access to the app, and not everyone may want to install Apple’s streaming service on their smart TV. The second season of Foundation will see the return of some of the original cast from the first season, including Lee Pace and Jared Harris. Filming for the third season is rumored to be already underway. In the meantime, you can catch the show’s first episode on Monday at 2pm ET, followed by a live Q&A with showrunner David Goyer.
