All details about the possibility of iPhone 16 featuring a vertical camera layout similar to iPhone 12
Although the iPhone 16 series is still several months away, with an official launch expected later in September this year, speculation is rife about the potential features of the next major iPhones. So far we’ve heard several rumors about the more expensive high-end iPhone 16 Pro models, but now new information about the vanilla iPhone 16 has also surfaced.
In the latest leak, tipster Majin Bu has shared hardware details about the iPhone 16, revealing the device’s alleged camera housing. Unlike the iPhone 15, 14 and 13, the iPhone 16 could feature a vertical camera layout similar to what we saw with the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12.
In particular, this change may enable Spatial Video recording on vanilla iPhones, as it is currently only possible on the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro models. When you pay attention to the triple camera layout of the iPhone 15 Pro, you will notice that Apple has placed the main camera and the ultra-wide sensor in line, directly on top of each other.
This makes sense with Apple Vision Pro now available. After all, Spatial Videos playback is a feature Apple is putting a lot of marketing attention on, and not being able to record them on cheaper vanilla phones could end up looking bad for the company.
However, these are just rumors for now, and until we have something more concrete, they should be taken with a grain of salt.
