Duet AI by Google Creates Emails and Documents with Different Styles
Google has provided additional information on the functionality of the Duet AI assistant, which will assist users in quickly creating emails and documents. Within Gmail, this tool enhances existing AI-powered features like Smart Reply. By selecting the “help me write” button, users will be presented with various options to aid them in their writing tasks.
Select “write draft” and you can specify the type of message you want Duet AI to create. Google says the tool can use previous messages in a thread to make the draft reply more relevant. If Duet AI creates a message with a tone that is perhaps too casual, you can ask the assistant to make it more formal. There are options to make the sketch more detailed or condensed, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can choose the “I’m lucky” option. Google says this “enables fun variations on the tone and style of the content you create.”
The options are pretty similar in Google Docs, although you can make Duet AI’s leveler tone more relaxed if you like. There are options to summarize part or all of the document, use bullet points (for those Axios fans), and create a different draft based on your original description. Additionally, Google says you can use custom help to refine the content you create. Docs’ “help me write” tool can enable smart canvas features.
For now, the new virtual assistant is only available to organizations that pay an additional $30 per user per month for the Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on. Duet AI will be available to SMBs and consumers in the coming months, but Google has yet to reveal pricing.
