Elon Musk Announces X Now Provides 1 Million Job Listings for Users: Is LinkedIn Facing Competition?

Elon Musk has repeatedly talked about plans to expand his platform X, formerly Twitter, with new services. With the social media app, you can already make video/audio calls, expand your messages to thousands of characters and even a new look premium subscription.

But X is also looking at platforms like LinkedIn, whose X Hiring theme is well and truly coming, and now Musk claims X offers a million job listings for potential job seekers.

The company’s CEO, Linda Yaccarino, has reiterated Musk’s push to make X an all-in-one app, and it appears listing jobs on the platform is part of those plans.

Interestingly, X allows people to search for jobs without an X Premium plan, which will likely change in the future when the company feels comfortable enough to put it behind a paywall.

After this, after independently verifying the x.com/jobs page, it is obvious that some of the posts are old, but X still shows them in the search results. So it is clearly a work in progress. LinkedIn is the de facto option for people after all these years, but they certainly don’t mind that there are more options for such services than even Google wants to offer through search.

X also has an AI chatbot called Grok, which is limited to paying users, which is understandable, but going back to the job postings, it looks like the platform will call it X Hiring, which will only work on the web and iOS for now, but they are working on Android support, as one of the engineers building the platform highlighted.
