Elon Musk Renames TweetDeck to XPro, Unveils New Logo
Twitter’s rebranding is complete, with the platform now known as X. However, owner Elon Musk is not finished yet. Following the renaming of the social media platform, he is now renaming all associated assets. Twitter Blue has already been changed to Blue, and there were reports of tweets being renamed as ‘posts’ after some users briefly saw the name change on Monday. The latest victim of this renaming exercise is TweetDeck, the dashboard application for managing multiple accounts on Twitter. TweetDeck will now be called XPro, and the new branding has started to appear in certain locations, including the top of the landing page.
According to a report by 9to5Google, the new XPro branding will appear when a user (who is logged out) visits the TweetDeck homepage. The same branding also appears at the top of your browser tab, which typically displays the logos of the website you’re visiting. The homepage URL is still tweetdeck.twitter.com and it is not known if it will be changed or not.
TweetDeck is now XPro
TweetDeck is an essential tool for many users who either manage large Twitter communities, own multiple accounts, or have businesses that let a team manage their social media. The tool allows users to have more control over content posting and timing and flow, checking other posts and more.
Musk announced in a tweet last week that TweetDeck will be removed and replaced. He said, “The name will be changed to XPro. A wide range of psy op plugins will be included.” The latter part was a joke, but with Musk anything is possible.
However, the new TweetDeck or XPro, as it is now called, is not available to everyone. On July 3, the Twitter support account (now Support) tweeted that a new and improved version of the dashboard is coming, adding features such as full composer functionality, access to Spaces, a video dock, voting, and more, but users must be verified within 30 days to use the platform. This deadline ends tomorrow.
