Google Unveils Chromebook Plus With AI and Pre-Installed Apps
Google has launched new Chromebook Plus laptops that offer built-in Google apps and powerful AI features. The Chromebook Plus also comes with Google Photos Magic Eraser and Adobe Photoshop online to help consumers improve their productivity.
The Chromebook Plus laptops will be available for a starting price of $399 (roughly Rs. 33,205.86) from major US retailers including Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart and Target starting October 8, 2023. In Canada and Europe, the new Chromebook Plus laptops will be available starting October 9, 2023.
In addition to the new Chromebook Plus devices, some existing Chromebooks will receive an operating system update that includes the enhanced features found on Chromebook Plus devices in the coming weeks. See here for more information on eligible devices.
“We’ve spent a lot of time listening to laptop users and worked closely with our partners at Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo to build a guaranteed level of performance that people can rely on to get the job done. Today we’re announcing eight new Chromebook Plus laptops,” the company said in a blog post.
According to the company, all Chromebook Plus laptops offer faster processors and double the memory and storage. All Chromebook Plus laptops also feature a Full HD IPS display that provides a full 1080p HD experience when watching streaming content, as well as sharp and clear viewing for reading, creating content, or editing photos and videos. It also has a 1080p+ web camera with temporal noise reduction that makes video calls smoother and more realistic.
All Chromebook Plus laptops come with Intel Core i3 12th Gen or higher or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or higher, 8GB+ RAM, 128GB+ storage, built-in AI to help improve your call clarity and lighting, remove background noise and blur backgrounds.
“We’re bringing Magic Eraser’s AI-powered editing to the built-in Google Photos app on Chromebook Plus, so you can easily remove unwanted distractions from your photos and make smart suggestions in the scene,” the company said.
The app also includes other enhanced editing features, such as an HDR effect that improves brightness and contrast, and the ability to add portrait blur to your existing photos. It also comes with Chromebook’s new file sync feature.
