GTA 6 Trailer Surpasses Mr Beast’s YouTube Record as the Most-Watched Non-Music Video Within 24 Hours
Rockstar Games, the developer of the popular Grand Theft Auto series, released a trailer for their upcoming game, GTA 6, yesterday. The trailer was released earlier than planned due to an unexpected leak. Since then, it has crossed 95 million views and has 100 million views.
This means it has surpassed popular YouTuber Mr Beast’s record for the most viewed non-music video on the platform within 24 hours of its release. This will surely strengthen GTA 6’s position as the most anticipated game of all time.
Mr. Beast took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to acknowledge the same. “The GTA 6 trailer just broke our record for most views on YouTube in 24 hours,” he wrote.

The trailer and numerous leaks leading up to it have confirmed that GTA 6 will be set in Leonidas, with Vice City as its primary setting. Vice City is Rockstar Games’ fictional representation of Miami, Florida. However, snippets from the trailer also indicate that Leonida will include additional areas such as swamps and other Florida-inspired locations.
The game features a female protagonist, Lucia, for the first time in the history of the series. Another main character is Jason who is said to be in a relationship with Lucia. Some have compared the two to Bonnie and Clyde.
Additionally, the game will only be released for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This means that it surpasses the previous generation of consoles. A PC version has not been announced, but as is typical of Rockstar releases, it will likely follow suit a year or two later.
