Krafton Announces Esports Tournament With Rs 2 Crore Prize Money: BGIS 2023 Details
Krafton has recently revealed the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 esports competition, which they assert to be the largest Battle Royale Esports tournament ever held in India. With a staggering prize pool of Rs 2 crore, numerous teams will vie for the opportunity to emerge victorious.
To ensure the tournament is well received in all regions of India and considering the diversity of the game’s player base, the Grand Finals of the esports event will be broadcast in 10 languages – including English, Hindi and 8 other regional languages.
When does it start?
According to Krafton, BGIS 2023 will be streamed from July 20 to October 14, 2023. The tournament is divided into two phases: Online Qualifiers and Offline Grand Finals, which will take place on the field from the 12th to the 14th. October and the fans are there.
BGIS 2023 begins with “The Grind”, where 256 invited teams compete for the top 64 teams. They will then advance to rounds 2 and 3 of the tournament. The Grind will decide which of the invited teams, as well as players who advance through the in-game qualifiers, will compete in the main event. Fans can watch The Grind live on the Krafton India YouTube channel starting July 20th every day at 12:00 PM.
BGIS 2023 Entries
Registration for the tournament is open from July 24th to August 2nd, followed by confirmation from August 3rd to August 9th. Entrants must ensure that they enter correct information to avoid being dropped during verification. Confirmed teams will then participate in 15 in-game qualifiers from August 10th to August 17th. Their top 10 match results determine their ranking.
Out of the total number of teams, 2048 teams make it to the first preliminary round. These qualified teams will then participate in a series of competitions held in groups of 16, spanning from Round 1 to Round 6. The best performing teams in each round will advance to the next stage leading to the Grand Final. As we said, the LAN event (the finals) will take place from the 12th to the 14th. October
