Microsoft Brings Snapchat Lenses to Teams: Everything You Need to Know
Microsoft has announced the integration of Snapchat lenses into Teams to make virtual meetings more expressive, available to users worldwide starting this week.
“Starting this week, more than 20 of the most popular Snapchat Lenses will be available to Teams customers worldwide, giving you more ways to express yourself, build relationships, and let your meetings shine,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
Additionally, the company said you don’t need to download anything or add a new app to Teams to access Snapchat Lens, as it’s already available and ready to use.
Users can start using Lenses by clicking on “Video Effects” and selecting the “Snapchat” tab.
Lenses allow them to transform into cartoon characters or add fun backgrounds to their videos.
In addition, the tech giant said that those who want to keep their video feed without effects can simply choose not to use them, as Snapchat Lenses are completely optional.
Users can also try a “soft look” filter to make the “glow” look polished and camera-ready — no animations, according to the company.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced that it will roll out the 3D avatar feature to all Teams users starting in May.
Avatars in Microsoft Teams are meant to help people avoid being on camera during meetings.
