Microsoft Introduces Bing AI Chatbot Support for Google Chrome
Microsoft has expanded the availability of its AI-powered chatbot, Bing AI, to Google Chrome, its competitor browser. Initially limited to the Microsoft Edge browser, Bing AI, which is based on OpenAI’s GPT model, can now assist users in their search experience regardless of the browser they use.
Microsoft said in a recent release note: “Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise are now supported on the Chrome desktop browser (using the latest Stable Channel update) for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Support for other browsers on desktop and mobile is coming.”
In addition, Microsoft also announced that Bing Chat Enterprise, the enterprise version of the chatbot, will be extended to Edge Mobile, meaning that organizations that have enabled this feature will be able to allow all registered users of the enterprise to use Bing AI on their smartphones. Through the Mobile Edge browser.
Google Chrome gets Bing AI support
According to a report by 9to5Google, Microsoft started testing Bing AI support for Google Chrome last month, and some users even reported seeing it. However, it turned out that the testing was limited and only a select few people had access. But now the feature has been extended to all users.
To experience Bing AI in Google Chrome, all you have to do is go to Bing.com and type your query into the text field. Press Enter when you’re done and you’ll be redirected to the search page. Here you will see a “Chat” option right next to “Search” below the text field. Tap Chat to see well-refined responses and contextual search results.
In addition to this, Microsoft also announced new Bing search page templates. Certain topics have received a new design pattern for search via Bing AI. “The new design avoids content duplication and makes more efficient use of search results page space, helping you find answers faster,” the post explained.
