Mobile users will soon have access to Google’s customer support powered by AI.
Google is building steam with Gemini AI, which comes in different variants, but the public is slowly getting access to its AI through different products. And you’ll soon be able to access Google’s AI-powered customer support through some of its support pages.
9to5Google spotted the feature this week, and they say the beta version of the AI support is available through some Google services like Maps and Google Play.
Chatbots offered by websites are not very intuitive and you get pre-defined queries, but Google brings its dose of artificial intelligence to this feature, where you can ask custom questions and the AI will try its best to give you an answer.
Google takes a dual-check approach with its AI avatar, as it notes that the accuracy of customer support answers may fluctuate, bringing human foresight into the equation to give you the best and most accurate answers. Google also increases the credibility of its AI answers by mentioning the sources through which the information is delivered to the user.
Google also solicits feedback from the public, so you have the option to give the AI’s answers a thumbs up or thumbs down based on how you rate the resulting content. But like we said, AI customer support is still in beta, which means people will have to wait a few months before the real thing is released, and hopefully by then Google will have a solid and accurate AI system ready to ship with more products.
Google’s AI push differs slightly from Microsoft and OpenAI because the company’s hardware is built to be capable enough to handle complex AI tasks. The Gemini Nano is already proving its worth by running through the Pixel 8 Pro smartphone, and this gives Google a chance to further its AI development, giving more people a taste of its AI products.
