OnePlus Claims Its Latest Phone is More Resistant to Rain than Other Models
Smartphone screens still struggle with water in any form, but OnePlus is now trying to fix the problem with a new technology that is part of its recently launched OnePlus Ace 2 Pro smartphone. The company claims that its display does better than any other smartphone when it’s raining or you want to use the phone with wet hands.
This OnePlus phone is also the first to launch with 24GB of RAM, but the focus is on the display, which could turn out to be a big boon for many of you. OnePlus uses a technology called Rain Water Touch, which it explains in a video where the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is tested in the rain with the iPhone 14 Pro.
The test clearly shows the value of OnePlus and its R&D team managing to pull this off, with the OnePlus device performing flawlessly underwater, while the iPhone struggles to achieve this level of performance when water splashes onto the screen.
Without sharing more details about the display technology, OnePlus seems to have a winner on its hands and we hope the company talks more about the feature of its devices in the future. As for other features, the Ace 2 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and up to 1TB of storage and fast charging support should also be there.
With the company’s first foldable device coming soon, it’s likely that the OnePlus Open could have this rain-friendly feature as well.
OnePlus has also focused on current issues, as the company has introduced a special lifetime warranty on its displays for phones affected by the green line display issue. OnePlus is offering this warranty to its users in India for now, but it is likely to expand to other markets in the coming weeks.
