OpenAI Generating Over $1 Billion in Revenue Over 12 Months
OpenAI plans to generate more than $1 billion in revenue over the next 12 months from the sale of artificial intelligence software and the computing capacity that uses it, it announced on Tuesday.
Previously, the ChatGPT maker predicted $200 million in revenue this year.
The Microsoft-backed company generates more than $80 million in monthly revenue, compared with just $28 million in all of last year, the report added.
OpenAI did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
In addition to ChatGPT, it makes money by selling API access to its AI models directly to developers and businesses, and through a partnership with Microsoft, which invested more than $10 billion in the company in January.
ChatGPT, known for its command to produce prose or poetry, has received widespread attention in Silicon Valley as investors see generative artificial intelligence as the next big growth area for tech companies.
