Report: Apple Reportedly Planning to Introduce Significant Upgrade in AirPods 4 by 2024
It’s no secret that Apple AirPods are the most popular truly wireless headphones on the market. They are a huge success for the iPhone maker, and for good reason. Apple has released three generations of its vanilla AirPods, along with two generations of AirPods Pro and a standalone AirPods Max. Now, Apple may be preparing to release the fourth generation of AirPods in 2024, as described by Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter.
He points out that the current third-generation AirPods haven’t proven to be as successful as their predecessors, and at $179, or 19,900 rupees in India, they’re more expensive than the AirPods 2, but barely undercut the feature-rich AirPods Pro. 2. In addition to bringing the fourth generation of AirPods, Apple is also expected to launch the updated AirPods Max, but since they do not sell as much as the vanilla and Pro AirPods, Apple may not work on a complete rebuild of the hardware and software, but just update the model with new colors and switch to USB-C charging.
