Report reveals that iPhone 16 will revolutionize smartphone design with reduced bezels and bigger screens.
According to a recent report from the supply chain, the Apple iPhone 16 is set to revolutionize smartphone design with advancements in display technology. The report indicates that bezels will be reduced and screen size expanded, particularly in the Pro models. Leaked CAD models suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max variant will feature a 6.9-inch screen. Apple plans to maintain the device’s comfortable form factor despite the larger display.
Shrinkable frames improve aesthetics
In addition to larger screens, the iPhone 16 range is expected to have smaller frames. Sources in the supply chain indicate that Apple’s display suppliers have developed technology to achieve this, which improves the visual appeal of the devices and maximizes screen real estate.
One challenge with shrink frames is managing internal wiring to prevent overheating. However, advances in thermally controlled heat dissipation technologies have reportedly solved this problem, paving the way for thinner bezels on all iPhone 16 models.
Looking further into the future, Apple has long-term goals for a bezel-less display, with components such as the Face ID module and selfie camera hidden under the screen. Although embedding the Face ID module under the screen may become a reality sooner, the integration of the selfie camera is a bigger challenge due to potential compromises in image quality.
While initial reports suggest that under-display Face ID could debut as early as 2026, delays in the development of the underlying technologies could push that timeline further into the future. Despite potential setbacks, Apple remains committed to pushing the boundaries of smartphone design with the goal of seamless integration of hardware and display technology.
With the release of the iPhone 16 expected later this year, consumers are eagerly awaiting confirmation of these advancements and their impact on the future of mobile devices.
