Rumor: Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max May Be Rebranded as ‘Ultra’ in 2021
The Apple iPhone 15 launch event is likely to happen next month, and regular updates have kept us updated on potential features, design changes, and camera improvements for the new iPhone series. This week’s tip suggests that Apple may have finally decided to rebrand the iPhone 15 Pro Max and give it the Ultra treatment, like Samsung did last year with the Galaxy S23 series.
The latest update comes via this report, which cites multiple sources who are now using the Ultra moniker for the Pro Max version of the iPhone 15 series. The tipster also claims that the Ultra variant could get a 10x zoom camera, which would surely spark interest among iPhone users. Opting for the Ultra designation allows Apple to differentiate its lineup with four models in different price ranges. We’ve heard about the Ultra version before from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who reported that Apple could wait until 2024 before making the change.
Apple already has a vanilla and Plus version. The other two fit the Pro configuration, with the biggest difference being screen size. Bringing the Ultra into the mix allows Apple to further increase the iPhone’s price leverage, which always helps its business.
That being said, most rumors about the iPhone 15 Pro have shown a similar focus, with a new titanium body packed with the latest A-series chip and advanced cameras. Apple is also likely to include Actions buttons in the Pro range, similar to those found on the Apple Watch Ultra model.
