The Safety Check tool of Google Chrome will now be automatically running in the background.

Google has been making efforts to enhance its security measures. In its latest update, the company’s Safety Check feature for Chrome, which includes the ability to verify if any of your saved passwords have been compromised, will now operate in the background on desktop, running automatically.

According to The Verge, the constant checks could mean users are being warned about a password they should change sooner than they might have done in the past.

Google also announced an upcoming feature for Chrome tab groups, including for desktop: Chrome will allow users to save tab groups so that users can access those groups on different devices, which may come in handy when switching between a computer at home and a laptop while traveling.

According to Google, this feature will be rolled out “over the next few weeks.”

The automatic security check feature is now rolling out to Chrome desktop users worldwide.
