Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic: First Look
Samsung has announced that it will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in late July, during which it is anticipated to reveal its latest foldable devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, as well as new Galaxy Buds. Additionally, the company is expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro, which have received less attention.
Until now, not much was known about the next generation of Galaxy Watches, but now new renders of the watches have leaked thanks to WinFuture.
Based on the leaked renders, the vanilla Galaxy Watch 6 looks identical to the current Galaxy Watch 5 and even the much older Galaxy Watch 4. However, the bezels appear slimmer, which may have been done to accommodate the larger screen in the same form factor. . 9to5Google notes that the watches may come in black, silver, and tan/beige.
The renders also suggest that Samsung could have tweaked the strap mechanism and moved away from the common pin-type style.
The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic/Pro, or whatever moniker Samsung gives it, is expected to revive the rotating bezel that was a staple of the “classic” line. Samsung ditched the rotating bezel in favor of a virtual, solid-state bezel on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, drawing a lot of criticism from longtime Galaxy Watch fans. WinFuture’s renders show slimmer bezels and two finishes – black and silver.
Both the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic/Pro are expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 smartphones at next month’s Galaxy Unpacked event in South Korea, and could be powered by WearOS 4.
