Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO, to Discover Fresh AI Prospects on India Trip in February
Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella will visit India on February 7 and 8 as part of his annual visit to the country and may meet AI startups and discuss new opportunities with AI.
“Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella will address the Indian developer community and technologies about discovering new opportunities through AI,” the company said in a statement.
Puneet Chandok, president of Microsoft India and South Asia, stated in an internal email a few weeks ago that Nadella’s visit reinforces Microsoft’s dedication to using technology to increase opportunities in the country.
In June last year, during his visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met prominent US and Indian tech leaders, including Nadella, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Afterward, Nadella’s office issued a statement in which he introduced the meeting with the prime minister.
“One important topic was the power of technology, especially artificial intelligence, to help improve the lives of Indians,” Microsoft said in a statement.
“India is home to one of the world’s most vibrant developer and startup ecosystems, and Microsoft remains deeply committed to India’s technology growth – which will impact both India and markets around the world,” it added.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has reached the coveted $3 trillion mark, becoming the second company after Apple to achieve this feat.
Microsoft reached the $3 trillion market cap for the first time in its 48-year history. The company reached the milestone after its stock rose 1.5 percent on the Nasdaq.
Apple reached a market cap of $3 trillion about two years ago.
