Stunning Art on Reddit’s r/place Showcased by ISRO Spacecraft UPI
Reddit’s annual pixel art campaign, known as ‘Place’ or ‘r/place’, has become incredibly popular among users over the years. If you’re unfamiliar with the term r/place, it’s essentially a yearly campaign where users are given a blank canvas and encouraged to contribute one pixel every 5 minutes to collectively create impressive artwork. This initiative holds great significance as it is Reddit’s most important annual campaign, and Indian users have shown a special appreciation for certain artworks.
With India’s progress in mind, Redditors have created beautiful works of art that show India’s progress. Not only that, but it presents a versatile and dynamic front that netizens can’t help but show.
Artwork by Indian Redditors
The pixel artwork showcases the grand fusion of science and spirituality by showcasing Chandrayaan-3. Redditors also made a “nuclear” Gandhi on their country’s flag, showing the power of the great freedom fighter. The art also pays homage to Japan for its version of the animated Ramayana that became very popular in India, as well as the symbolism of Vande Bharat trains, UPI and more. These were some of the artworks created by hundreds of dedicated Indian redditors.
What is r/place and how does it work?
In recent years, Reddit has run an annual campaign known as r/place. During the campaign, all Redditors will be given a blank canvas for a few days to add one pixel of color every five minutes. Only registered users can participate in the campaign and find art on the official Reddit Place. Additionally, communities on Reddit, known as subreddits, come together and collaborate to design and create pixel art. However, these communities can be as small as just a few members or a large group consisting of millions of users.
Reddit pixel art rules
Time Now reports that the platform avoids chaos, so only one user at a time fills a pixel to encourage creativity and collective harmony. Both iOS and Android apps are supported on the modern version of the social network, ensuring that mobile users can also participate in the campaign.
