What Stylus Is Compatible With the OnePlus Open Foldable?
The OnePlus Open is the company’s first foldable product on the market, going up against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold line. A foldable device has a lot going for it, which is justified when you carry a price tag of Rs 1,39,900 in a market like India. But for a premium foldable, the OnePlus Open misses out on a few features that high-end folks expect. One of them is a pen rest.
Even during the launch event, OnePlus didn’t say clearly whether the OnePlus Open will let you use a stylus, or at least if it plans to bring one in the near future. But this week the company has been quoted here saying two things that should excite people.
OnePlus confirmed that its foldable phone will support a pen, and the company is considering bringing a pen-like product to the product in the future. But now, how can OnePlus Open buyers use the stylus on the device and which stylus models are compatible with the Open foldable? The company confirms that the OnePlus Open will get stylus support, but will only use the Oppo Pen, which is Oppo’s stylus for its tablet. The company saying this implies that you cannot use any third-party pen that is readily available in the market.
It is interesting to hear OnePlus talking about the stylus support offered by Oppo, as both the OnePlus Open and the Oppo Find N3 are essentially the same device. When you browse the features of both foldables, you get a hint that Oppo is using its sub-brand OnePlus to market the same product under a different moniker.
So we’re not entirely surprised that the Oppo Pen works with the OnePlus Open, but the bigger question is why OnePlus didn’t think to talk about its own pen, giving it more room to sell accessories for a foldable device that’s definitely worth getting. pen options at least for the price you’re being asked to pay.
