What to expect from Google Pixel 8 Pro: Leaked renders reveal key details
OnLeaks has leaked several renders of the Pixel 8 Pro that reveal some details about Google’s upcoming flagship. The device, which is expected to launch in October, could have a flat screen instead of a curved one and also curved edges similar to the older Pixel and Nexus phones.
According to SmartPrix, the smartphone could be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O event on May 10, and OnLeaks has suggested that the phone will be launched in either the third or fourth quarter of 2023.
Renders of the phone suggest the device could also ditch the sharp, boxy design to make way for rounded corners – reminiscent of the older Pixel and Nexus 6P. The camera housing is expected to remain roughly the same, but with the addition of a new lens, which 9to5Google suggests could be a LiDAR sensor.
Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 are expected to feature Google’s third-generation Tensor processor – the Tensor G3, which could be based on the Exynos 2300 SoC-Samsung’s in-house 3-nanometer process. Similar to Samsung’s flagships, Google is expected to introduce an Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on the Pixel 8 Pro, moving away from the optical sensors used by the outgoing Pixel 7 series.
According to OnLeaks and SmartPrix, the Pixel 8 Pro could have a 6.52-inch flat display with a hole in the middle, making it slightly smaller than the Pixel 7 Pro’s 6.7-inch QHD+ display. However, the screen may also have an uneven frame structure with thin edges on the top and sides, but thick edges on the bottom.
However, these are just rumors and the final device may be different. We might see Google reveal a few details about the Pixel 8 series in addition to the Pixel 7a launch at Google I/O 2023.
