WHO has finally released its Covid-19 app on Google Play Store
The World Health Organization released its Covid-19 Updates app on Google’s Play Store almost eight months after removing it from the platform.
The company released its WHO Covid-19 Updates app on the Google Play Store in April this year. But the world health body withdrew it shortly after saying the published app was supposed to be a private beta. Now, almost eight months later, the app is finally ready to ship to Android users around the world.
You can download the WHO Covid-19 Updates application by going to the Play Store and clicking the Download button. The app weighs only 8.8MB and works with phones running Android 4.1 and above. It has collected just over 1000 downloads so far.
In its first public release, the WHO Covid-19 Updates application provides users with information from both WHO experts and the organization’s regional partners. The app description available on the Play Store states that the app will help users know the symptoms of Covid-19 and learn how to protect themselves and their community from the pandemic.
It will also provide them with real-time updates based on their location. We are working hard to partner with regional experts in new locations. When you sign up to receive notifications, we’ll keep you updated when we have new information about your region, the app says in its description.
Additionally, the app will help users identify ways in which they can help during these critical times.
