In 2024, Apple Watch may undergo a significant redesign and introduce advanced health tracking capabilities.
Apart from the Apple Watch Ultra series, which is a couple of generations old, the Apple Watch models have had roughly the exact same design since 2015, when the first Series 0 was launched. Although the feature set and the overall product have changed for the better, Apple’s watch series is undergoing a major overhaul.
This is exactly what several industry insiders and analysts have been predicting for about a year at this point. But now, as Bloomberg reports, the Apple Watch could finally get a much-anticipated redesign that will begin as early as next year.
Gurman says Apple is planning “at least one model with a new look.” But the main focus is on taking the Apple Watch health tracking experience up a notch with features like hypertension and sleep apnea monitoring. The redesigned Apple Watch is able to detect these issues, report them to the user and prompt them to seek additional care to resolve any issues.
Furthermore, the report adds that these features could have serious marketing potential, and Apple could really benefit from it.
Meanwhile, this year’s Apple Watch line-up, which includes the new Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the second-generation Apple Watch SE, is not expected to sell well due to the lack of updates introduced this year. The design remains largely the same, and there aren’t many new features, aside from new double-tap gestures, a brighter display, and a new chipset.
In this sense, bringing a new, redesigned Apple Watch could be Apple’s way of focusing on its wearables category in 2024. Along with the redesigned Apple Watch, we’ll also see the iPhone maker release a new AirPods 4, which according to Gurman will come in two versions: one with ANC and one without. . In addition, we can also see a new AirPods Max version.
