iPhone 15 Sales Take a Hit with 11 Million Units Sold
The launch of the Apple iPhone 15 is approaching rapidly, with only a few weeks remaining, and speculations are running wild as various secrets are being unveiled. This is not only to satisfy the immense number of Apple iPhone enthusiasts, but also to offer investors in Apple shares some insight and assurance. Investors are eager to determine the viability of their investment and whether it will continue to generate profits in the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, a recent report from 9to5Mac has disclosed unfavorable information regarding the production figures for the iPhone 15.
iPhone 15 production challenges
This may seem like a no-brainer, but the reality is that Apple can’t always produce as many iPhones as it wants right away when they’re released. But whatever they do, they sell.
Recently, a well-known analyst named Jeff Pu lowered his estimate of how many iPhone 15 units will be produced. He predicted from 83 million now that it is 77 million units. Pu says this drop is because there are problems getting the parts needed to make the phones. An even worse prognosis was made. He said that the numbers were reduced also because there may be fewer people who want iPhone 15 series phones.
Reducing production by 11 million units
Another report from Japan’s Mizuho bank adds to this story of fewer iPhones being made. Today they changed their stance on how many iPhone 15 units will be produced. They thought it would be 84 million and now said it is 73 million. And as you might expect, the reason is the same: Apple isn’t getting all the parts it needs to ramp up iPhone 15 production. Mizuho also believes that 217 million iPhones will be manufactured throughout 2023. This is down from the 227 million they had previously.
Possible delay for iPhone 15 Pro Max
Additionally, a different report from 9to5Mac this week said another expert working at a major financial firm believes Apple may not be able to ship the iPhone 15 Pro Max before October. However, other iPhone models are expected to be available from September 22.
This delay is because the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a new type of camera that can zoom more. However, Sony, which manufactures camera parts, is unable to deliver them in time for the iPhone’s launch. So the coolest iPhone might come out a little later.
Color changes for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max
Finally, if you were hoping for a gold iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, you might be disappointed. Instead, Apple plans to make them a color called “Titan Grey” using a new kind of frame. The special “Deep Purple” color is also going away and they have a new dark blue option instead.
