Tecno Rumored to Be Developing a New Flip Phone, Leaked Case Images Surface
Tecno has already launched a foldable device in its Phantom series this year, and soon a Flip model could also be launched. Details of this rumored device are limited, but the new phone case of the Tecno Phantom V Flip has been leaked and is actually already on sale, giving us an idea of the Flip phone’s design.
As we’ve seen with other flip phones this year, Tecno could also offer a large external display that allows multiple features to be compatible without opening the flip. The placement of the camera on the front definitely catches your attention, as the O-shaped layout contains the sensors and the front shooter hole inside the cutout.
The leaked render of the case also claims that the Phantom V Flip will be lightweight, offer protection to the device and have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The bottom has a USB C port for charging, as other brands offer.
The leaked case doesn’t leave much to the imagination, but in terms of hardware specs, we still don’t know what Tecno will bring to the table with its first Flip phone. Based on this development, it is unlikely that Tecno will take too long to make the product official or at least share hints about the device. The fact that the case renderings do not mean that the final product has the same dimensions.
We’ve seen this with the iPhone over the years, so we’d take these visuals with a grain of salt. Tecno has a foldable product in the market that is available for under a lakh and it is no surprise that the Tecno Phantom V Flip is being launched for buyers under Rs 80,000.
The Tecno Phantom V Fold will debut at MWC 2023 with a starting price of Rs 89,999. The cover screen of the device has a 6.42-inch AMOLED panel that supports 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz display. The display you get when folded open is 7.85 inches with a 2K resolution and 120 Hz LTPO panel. Tecno powers this device with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset, which is quite capable on its own.
