Replacement Cost of iPhone 15 Pro Back Panel is Rs 38,000 Cheaper Than iPhone 14 Pro
Apple emphasized during the iPhone 15 launch that the iPhone 15 Pro would be easier to repair and the back glass would be easier to replace; However, it did not specify how much it would differ from the previous generation iPhone 14 Pro. But now the iPhone maker has finally revealed how much it costs to replace the iPhone 15 Pro’s back glass panel.
Apple’s official repair and service support page gives us an idea of the repair costs. If you want to replace the back glass, it would cost you Rs 16,900 for iPhone 15 Pro Max and Rs 14,900 for iPhone 15 Pro. This is significantly cheaper than Apple’s charge of Rs 59,900 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Rs 52,900 for the iPhone 14 Pro.
Doing a quick calculation, this is a whopping Rs 43,000 and Rs 38,000 price cut for the Pro Max and Pro iPhone respectively. This is definitely good news for people with butter fingers who might break their phones frequently.
Interestingly, the regular iPhone 15 models still have the option of affordable rear glass repairs, priced at Rs 16,900 for the iPhone 15 Plus and Rs 14,900 for the iPhone 15 – the same as the iPhone 14 series.
iPhones aren’t cheap—and with high repair costs—it hurts the pocketbook even more. In fact, some of the recent iPhone models, including the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, are infamous for being difficult to repair, especially when it comes to the back glass.
However, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models seem to represent a shift towards creating iPhones that are more repair-friendly rather than replacing the entire device.
