How Google plans to compete with ChatGPT and improve the Bard AI chatbot
It has been difficult for Google to succeed in the AI arena ever since ChatGPT came into the picture. A company that has dominated data and artificial intelligence for years is now struggling with a product like Bard that has yet to convince the public. And the company’s latest effort is to ask its employees to use Bard for two to four hours and help them test the AI Chatbot to make it better, more accurate and as good as ChatGPT.
This letter was sent by Sundar Pichai, and their goal is to make Bard better so that they can quickly integrate with Google Search and perhaps the Chrome browser in the coming months, according to a
report
from Business Insider.
Google has been found wanting in the AI search market, especially since Microsoft decided to invest heavily in open AI and use this partnership to integrate ChatGPT into Bing Search and the Edge browser, among others.
While Microsoft is getting all the praise for its move, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has faced internal criticism for Bard’s rapid rollout, which even meant Google lost billions in the market due to its poor performance. Google has called it a code red situation, which has forced big companies like Sergey Brin to start using Google code again.
The problem for Google is that ChatGPT is already capable of providing human-like answers, and the company believes that the AI Chatbot could quickly improve and fight ChatGPT if it feeds data through its internal testers.
Google needs to be reasonable with Bard and not push out a half-baked product that can only damage the company’s reputation in the market. It will be interesting to see how Google and Co.’s latest venture progresses and if they manage to get Bard up and running in top shape.
