The Musk-owned platform is likely to bring all the new features under the subscription service which costs Rs 900 per month for users in IndiaNews

X Now Offering Payment Options to Users

Elon Musk wasn’t kidding when he said that X, formerly Twitter, is a whole new platform with new features. The company has already confirmed that voice calls and live video are coming to X, and now we can also tell you that payments will also be available through the microblogging platform in the coming months.

A teaser of X’s payments was shared by Linda Yaccarino, X’s CEO, in a video called Global Town Square, which not only shows us a glimpse of X’s upcoming features, but also hints at the changing dynamics of the platform, which isn’t just about posting anymore and serves a lot more.

The video in this post shows us features like video calling, chatting with other people through Spaces, and even paying for a cake your friend gets from a group. That’s right, soon payments will be possible on X, and it’s likely that X will allow you to integrate debit cards or even UPI (in India) with other people on the platform.

He even hinted that X will bring work profiles to users and allow them to buy their favorite sneakers through the platform itself. Clearly, Musk and Co. have planned something big for X and these changes will ensure that no one even remembers Twitter for what it used to offer.

That said, it’s likely that the X will bring most of these features below the premium tier in the form of X Blue, which costs Rs 900 per month if you pay through the mobile X app. Web X users can get X Blue for Rs 650 per month. However, X also offers an annual billing option, which brings the total price to 9,400 rubles with a small discount.

Recently, Musk has talked about bringing a paywall structure to all X (formerly Twitter) users. This essentially means that X can become a paid platform for anyone who wants to use it. Musk’s reasons for making this drastic change have to do with X’s massive bot traffic, which he believes asking people to pay for the service will reduce bots’ impact on the platform. He mentioned that unlike the X Premium subscription, the platform has lower pricing for all users.
