Can Google Pixel 8 Compete With iPhone 15 Pros in Terms of Heat Resistance?

The new Google Pixel 8 series phones seem better equipped to deal with the heating issues that plagued previous Pixel models. Google is still using Samsung’s 4nm node to develop the Tensor G3 chip, but this year’s Pixel 8 lineup is said to outperform in terms of performance, albeit by some margin.

Samsung’s 4nm process has caused problems over the years, forcing the company to abandon its in-house chipset in favor of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen chips, which have performed well in its flagship lineup. So when the new Pixels came out, expectations have been positive, and now we’re slowly getting a reality check on where the new Tensor G3 chip stacks up against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the new Apple A-series chips.

Geekbench results suggest that the Pixel 8 series is still lagging behind in terms of performance, but it seems that the heating issues are now under control, but it has apparently come at the cost of throttling the chipset.

There were reports earlier this year that the new Pixel phones would finally put an end to the heating issue, and that part has probably been covered. However, throttling performance does not exude confidence in the brand and product, especially when you buy them well over a million in the market this year. We’re hoping that the slight change in thermal management on the Pixel phones will help extend battery life.

You want a flagship product to challenge the best or even better them. But it’s important that Google sort out its chip issues, which could affect how people decide to spend their money on a new phone this year and beyond.

The new Pixel 8 series has been launched in India, with the Pixel 8 priced at Rs 75,999, while the Pixel 8 Pro costs Rs 1,06,999. Some bank offers lower the prices, but even then the levels and stakes are much higher at this level.
