iPhone Models Experiencing Unexplained Shut Down Problem – Here’s What You Should Know
After dealing with overheating issues with the latest iPhone 15 Pro models, Apple is reportedly facing another major problem as some iPhone users are reporting a mysterious bug that causes certain iPhone models to temporarily shut down at night.
In a thread on the social networking website Reddit, a user complains that two separate iPhone alarms in his home failed. Several other users also chimed in with similar issues, and it turns out that some of the issues may be related to the iPhone turning off at night, MacRumors reported.
“Yesterday, many iPhones turned off for a few hours during the night. In my case, the phone turned back on a minute before the alarm,” the user said.
Some other people noted that they had to enter their passcode in the morning, which indicated that the iPhone restarted or shut down during the night. 9to5Mac highlighted these issues earlier this week.
Another iPhone user took to the MacRumors forums and said: “So my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.0.3 spontaneously restarted last night (October 10th around 01:00 CET). The same thing happened to three of my friends who had the same iPhone and the same iOS, and for someone else who had an iPhone 13 Mini, also on the same iOS.”
You can find out if your iPhone turned off at night by opening the Settings app, going to Battery and checking the 24-hour charging history. If you notice a gap in the data, it means that your iPhone was turned off for a certain period of time.
“The issue affects iPhone 15 models, but it also affects other devices, which suggests it’s something in iOS 17. Not all users are experiencing shutdown issues, and it doesn’t seem to happen every night,” MacRumors added.
Apple recently released the latest iOS 17.0.3 update. It fixes the significant overheating problem of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Soon after the release of the new iPhone 15 models, many customers started reporting that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max were overheating and sometimes shutting down due to overheating issues.
